We had been in Canada for five months. I, ever the hustling freelancer, found myself at home with a then ten-months old. I didn’t feel like I belonged. I was an ecosystem builder who suddenly found herself without an ecosystem. Everything felt just a little off-center, as if the lens needed to focus.
